Question by BoBo: What is the difference between expensive and cheap crystals on a chandelier?
I see chandeliers hanging at the Ritz Paris and Buckingham Palace, and the crystals shine a very white color. I also see some chandeliers that give more of a warm amber color. Is the color the main characteristic of an expensive crystal, or I’m totally missing the point?

good crystal reflects light better because it has been hand shaped exactly like they shape diamond bad crystal doesn’t because it is just pored in a mold you will even see the creases from the mold on the pieces of crystal if it is really cheap

Crystals are traditionally clear but I guess you can have coloured ones too. I think the more expensive ones will shine more and reflect more light. But also the Ritz and Buck House have teams of cleaners doing nothing but cleaning chandeliers!
pure crystal with a delicate cut has a special recurred light because
of the perfect sequence of internal polygonal reflections,
cheap crystals comes in any color, easily breaks, reflects
lights externally instead of diversion of light threads,
to ordinary people, the difference is NOTHING
Clarity meaning the sparkle then the color it reflects and these my dear TWINKLE so so pretty! So whe you see the Rits on doesn’t it just awe youthen again it has so much lighting in that place lol.
There are a number of grades of crystal from a number of Countries. The higher the lead content the more sparkle they give off. Some are pressed and some are hand cut like a diamond with many faucets. They also do come in a number of color grades, just like diamonds. The other reason for some color difference is they bulbs that are used in the fixture. Some places use a standard bulb that gives off a yellow hue, while most opt for Krypton bulbs, that are very brilliant white and help with the reflectance of the crystal itself( a matter of personal taste ).
