ive got blood sugar sex magik, californication, by the way and stadium arcadium. im thinking of one hot minute or another one of their earlier more funk style albums, which album is the best to get next?

Personally I really like One Hot Minute, its a good album.

I would recommend One Hot Minute or Mother’s Milk. Mother’s Milk is an earlier album and has more of a funk feel to it.
EDIT: They also put out some earlier albums (before Mother’s Milk) with some pretty interesting names. Freaky Styley is one and Uplift Mofo Party Plan is another one.

Mother’s milk or One hot minute are the two you haven’t got. Mother’s milk is the earlier album.

I’m not a huge fan but “Freaky Styley” is alright.
I would go with One Hot Minute, BUT a fair amount of hardcore RHCP fans don’t like it because the album has Dave Navarro in place of John Frusciante on guitar. Can’t go wrong with Mother’s Milk either though.
