Did it ever occur to you that perhaps your mind is not narrow enough? I would prefer to refer to my mind as DISCIPLINED. You should try it sometime. Is that snide enough for you?
I don’t consider dreams to be caused by a “flaw” in the human mind. You can’t pigeon-hole reality.You’re too tiny and it’s much too immense. So stop pretending that you have everything figured out. Dreams like Tarot provide clues. You can see yourself as a vulnerable victim if you like, but I prefer to feel supported by the universe when I can be receptive, and actually learn something valuable to my circumstances from either dreams or tarot.

Well there’s free association for you: rationality holds me in a “death-grip”. If I were to even only take one thing on faith then my mind would be open to the possibility of believing anything. I have faith in math and so I consider the probability of truth. There is no certainty. I am certain. Bertrand Russell would say, “anything is possible, but very few things actually happen”.
I watch your videos mostly because I think Amanda has some very interesting insights into current events. I really like the characters she develops. I think she could be an excellent writer. That does not mean I believe in the paranormal and I think the belief actually hurts you in the long run. I am all for examining imagination and trying to understand what baggage we’ve inherited. I think the paranormal (and faith) is baggage from the past that we should simply drop.
You’re right, I know absolutely nothing about you beyond what you’ve revealed in comments.
I’d guess that your horoscope is heavily influenced by air, with squares or oppositions to water. Something driving your curiosity about watery subjects of discussion, but your’e fighting the process every inch of the way. Believing that if you released your death-grip of rationality that you’d lose your mind or something. I think it’s healthy to be skeptical, but everything is more useful in moderation.

Why does the messenger have to be a like a silly cartoon character? This destroys the credibility for me, unless I’m missing the point that this is not intended to be serious?
Something to pay attention to, here…and this was touched on in the video…is that whatever truth is…it’s inside us and we must trust our OWN intuition regarding truth. Listen to others. Read books. Use Crystals, Taro, whatever. Watch for signs, but don’t depend on them. The answers are always within you. It is SO easy to follow those who seem more powerful than us…but no one really is. I trust no one…no book, tool or idea…more than my OWN intuition.
Whenever I feel afraid, I ask for synchronicity to be revealed. It always shows up. A clear intention is all one needs to “get” messages from the oneness we are all part of. If I have a clear intention to receive a message, it will arrive…through Spiritual books, animals, my imagination, Taro cards…whatever resonates with me.

The arguments are interesting, but not really opposed. If John Williams were willing to invest his time in understanding the synchronistic random connections, they would tell him a story about his life. All the hidden thoughts, motivations, and nuanced feelings that we hide from one another would come to light. Maybe it’s been a long time since he’s really had the enthusiasm to listen to a story. It can be threatening to face the awful truth sometimes.

Not buying it . . . I can see how some “randomness” is constrained just by the number of finite number of cards in the deck. If you’re going to claim that the cards themselves are influenced by the mental state of the subject I would remind you that no one had ever produced any evidence for that.
synchronicity by definition is not random. This is where feeling/sensing and the mental/knowing realms meet and it can be a beautiful psychic space if they are allowed to co-exist…and I might add…it takes practice to learn what is connected to the psychic-spirit realm and what is a projection of the wounded mind/heart and what is both.

I think your claims are overstated. Your assertions of synchronicity I think have to be narrowed to a purely psychological function. That is not to say there is no value, but it is not through any sort of revelation through the cards. It is the re-framing of your life story that gives greater perspective and the potential for self-revelation. All revelation is INSIDE the mind of the subject. The cards are props for the reframing.
You know how the Iraq war has killed thousands of our own children, turned many others to murder and torture, and so on? I want to live in a world where the majority of people are immune to the deception of story telling. The fantasyland of Tarot cards creates a nice little psychedelic tickle in the brain (I’m all in favor of pleasure) but it’s part of a system of believing stories…and that system makes us vulnerable to stories like “the muslims are bad and it’s okay to kill them.”

When you accept this new reality, full of positive, light filled thoughts, as truth, then you are serving to heal humanity of all the ills you’ve mentioned about the world: ‘vulnerability, war, cruelty,religion,etc’. Remember your own power to change the world by starting with yourself. You have the ability to choose and adjust the stories you allow in to your consciousness and when any stories do come in from the outside, YOU CHOOSE which to accept as truth. When you start choosing truths that that feel good b/c they reflect the world or personal experience you’d like to see or have, then you are choosing your reality. And…
