Even if your Shaman has avoided it in the past, Player versus Player (PvP) combat is in their future. Wrath of the Lich King transformed World PvP. The big change is visible in the new real time PvP battle zone called Lake Wintergrasp. There, the emphasis is on real-time World PvP.
In this new zone, you face off on the live server to win points that allow you to buy a wide variety of rare and valuable items, including the new Heirloom items that any of the player’s characters in that account regardless of that character’s level can take advantage of.

Playing a Shaman class character in World of Warcraft PvP can be incredibly fun because of all the things they can do in combat. Whether it is throwing down an armful of offensive and defensive totems, or slicing their opponent to ribbons using Windfury, Shaman can do it all, with style and power.
