The Creator Is not A Religious Figure
I was speaking to an individual one day and during the course of the conversation, he asked me a question that had something to do with a decision that I had to make. I told him that the Creator had already made that decision and that I was fine with that. He immediately became defensive and said that he doesn’t believe in religion. I tried to explain to him that I wasn’t talking about religion, but he kept cutting me off. He did not care to listen. All he heard was some form of “God” and that made him think I was talking about religion.
This conversation caused me to wonder why anyone would think of the Creator as a religious figure. I guess the church has a huge part to play especially when politics is involved. However, the Creator existed before anything was. So religion really has no place and no foundation except to control the minds of the laity.
To understand this, you have to know what the word religion really means. The word “religion” comes from a Latin word called relig?re. The word “Lig?re”means “to bind, tie, or fasten. The prefix “re-“means “again” or “again and again”. This can also mean “back” or “backwards” as in a backward motion. So the root meaning of religion is “to bind, tie or fasten again and again”
This could explain why many of us are programmed to go to a place of worship every week. We are told in many different and subtle ways to leave our brains at the door. So we are taught from little not to think for ourselves when we enter those walls. As a result, believers and unbelievers based everything on belief. They will say “The Creator (or God) exists because I believe he exists” or “The Creator does not exist because I do not believe he exists”. If something good happens
