Leveling Through Random Dungeon Finder As a Healer
Leveling through Random Dungeon Finder (RDF) is a great experience. There are many benefits to leveling through this method. 1) It is the fastest way to level as a tank and healer. DPS will benefit the most if they work the RDF into their solo questing. 2) The gear will be better than most of the quest rewards. 3) It gives experience in the fundamentals of running instances as a healer.
The First 15 Levels
As you cannot start using RDF until level 15, you will have to solo quest the first 15 levels. This will be the most painstaking part of leveling through RDF. In the first 10-11 levels, I recommend you choose the quest gear that helps you level faster. For a Shaman, Druid or Priest, this can be the same gear (You can level as Elemental as a Shaman and Balance as a Druid). Paladin has a distinct separation from leveling gear and healing gear. Levels 10+ start speccing for healing in both gear and talents. You want to be able to comfortably heal in RFC (The first dungeon you will enter).
Gear
Gear is broken down by class. All the classes need different stats on their gear to efficiently heal in dungeons. All of the stats indicated below can be found on Heirloom Items. I recommend you get them if you can. They make gearing much easier. Here is the breakdown:
Paladin – Getting the stats you need on low level gear will be difficult, unless you have the gold for the Auction House. I recommend getting cloth early on, as this armor type will have more of the stats you need. What Paladins need is Intellect and Spell Power. Intellect is abundant on cloth as opposed to mail in the early levels, which is why I recommend cloth. Spell Power is very difficult to find at low
