This episode of ABC’s The View called “A Paranormal View” was a disgrace! It was nothing more than an infomercial for John Edward’s new Infinitequest.com website! This is not journalism! On the subject of tarot history, that psychic tarot reader Sandy Anastasi, was either grossly misinformed or she’s a big liar! None of what she said about the history of tarot cards is factually correct. ABC News, The View, and Whoopi Goldberg should be ashamed for promoting this distortion and stereotyping of other people’s culture! We live in the age of the internet where factual information should be available to the media. Someone should should have told Whoopi Goldberg and The View that tarot cards were really made for a card game which is still played mainly in continental Europe. They were not made for any supernatural, paranormal, or psychic purpose. There is no evidence at all that tarot cards were originally made for any other purpose than for playing a trick taking card game. American tarot game players are trying to educate the general public about these card games and these biased and inaccurate tarot reports focusing only on psychics and fortune telling are damaging to our efforts to broaden the cultural horizons of other Americans. The mainstream media needs to stop promoting the misinformation and occult stereotypes surrounding tarot cards.

@Rissalita Clearly, I see this “PSychic” is a fraud. That wont stop me from believing in tarot. My point was just that I cant stand that blonde one on the view.
@winkyco03 Heh~~ A cold reading liar who misinforms whoever watches this show, thanks to GAMEOFTAROT for exposing the lies, and presenting truth ^-^
@winkyco03 That goes without saying. She is surely ignorant and very disrespectful.
I’m sorry. I believe very strongly in psychics and tarot card readings. But the blonde one is a FUCKIN BITCH! For real. not just in this one, but every episode I’ve seen shes a cold biotch!
love the captions 🙂 good to know skeptics are taking down these scam artists who call themselves “psychics”
I used to use tarot cards to read fortunes, I used to believe in it as well. It was only later I learned more about human psychology and concepts of cold reading. My belief in these “powers” slowly unraveled. As humans we focus on hits and ignore misses, especially when we feel the information being given is important.
The trouble with tarot is that most people are being taught they are from Egypt and inherently mystical. This assertion isn’t supported in real historical fact.
as a professional Tarot reader this woman is giving a very blank cold reading , shes not a psychic , the view is a show of bumbling idiots or that chick was being intentionally rude by touching the cards, lol whoopi is awesome why is she on that show?
@Solus3 or play games with them.
While you guys are arguing where these amazing cards came from, you’re delaying the time & energy in studying them and learning from them.
I know lots of tarot facts- what would you like to know?
watch?v=4gH-OAXQbew
I would recommend watching this video.
It is not a belief that it was first a card game. In some parts of Europe, tarot still IS a card game.
I’ve studied the Tarot and I’d love for you to post where others can get facts about the tarot! Where did you get your information? (Thanks for sharing.)
My studies show this: It is “believed” that it was first a card game. Other speculate the Tarot was brought from India to Europe as pasteboard images of gods and goddess used to teach their divinity.
The only fact recorded is the most complete deck was in the early 15 century and believed to be made for the Duke of Milan.
How annoying and stupid Elizabeth is actually!
Now there’s an idea! In case you’re curious there are Tarot tournaments held in countries such as France where they play the game
Can’t wait for the Tarot Olympics next year!
Does that excuse them from broadcasting lies about other people’s culture? I don’t think so. It may not be the most important issue in the world but there is a need to speak up when someone misrepresents culture like this.
The Italians invented tarot for game playing. There is no documentation of anyone using tarot cards at all before the 15th century Italians.
Tarot cards are still used for games in the 21st century. Tarot game playing is far from dead. Tarot cards are mostly played by Europeans so people in countries like the US are ignorant of them. Soul416, you should do more research. LOGIC says they could only come from ONE country and EVIDENCE says they came from Italy
lol too funny that you still dont get that it’s a television program OWNED BY DISNEY and AIRED ON ABC…you are taking it way too personally and we are googling whoopi because we love the view! hahahaha, you bite the hand thats feeding you these “views”
it doesn’t say Italy, just because the Italians get credit for changing them after Gypsies (Egypt) already had them – doesn’t make them originals, moron.
No, you stereotype your own games by still calling them games. They may have been used as a game in the 14th century but they’re not anymore, so unless you’re a vampire and have lived since the 14th Century, the point for your “games” are no longer relevant. She is also right about Gypsies being the first ones the use them – the 14th century. BTW, they DON’T know where Tarot originates from, because EVIDENCE says that it came from VARIOUS European countries,
Thanks to the efforts of the tarot game movement, you cannot google “whoopi goldberg tarot” without coming across our message! Our message is delivered! Whoopi stereotypes our games. Tarot segment appalling!
The cards are just a tool i think. Maybe you r right tho. Maybe it is just a game, lol 🙂
The woman who read my cards has never asked money from anybody….she’s just a waitress in a small restaurant. I believe in psychic powers. Intuition, sixth sense, clairvoyance, clairvoyance….whatever you want to call it.
Has your reading been scientifically tested? No. So far science has found nobody with any psychic powers. There are even skeptics like James Randi offering prize money to those claiming psychic powers. So far nobody has earned any prize money.
