Not all shamans use hallucinogenic drugs and not all hallucinogenic drug users are shamen (although most think they are at one point or another)
Yes, I take the drugs but I only do it for the experience points.
Animism is the observation of real phenomena, not mumbo jumbo giant invisible sky fairies. Divination exists in the form of predicting the possible future, on the basis of if nothing is done to change it. People tend to stick to set mundane routines, which have very predictable outcomes.
All human beings practice sorcery of a sort, in that our focused intent is pure energy. Energy cannot die only change form. Because energy and matter are the same, ie E=mc sq, it means all energy has the ability to manifest into matter.
I’ve only taken plant helpers once during my traditional initiation. You take bucket loads and are buried alive for 24 hours. You come out either dead, insane or a poet. 🙂
I am the last of my people to do it that way, it is very harsh and not necessary. There are more gentler ways to achieve the same. The plant helpers are just an energy the same as any other, once the energy signature is recognized, it can be revisited at will.
Practicing Shaman… quantum physics rocks.
