This original song I call “The Corn Husk Shuffle” I’m playing it with a Native American flute (key F), a Tarahumara Shaman drum, eagle wing bone whistle replica and a rain stick. I used multi- track recording with a M-audio recording interface and various software and a Shure BG 2.1 microphone. The photographs in the video are all taken in Alaska. I mostly took them with an Olympus 2100 UZ digital camera. Later, others were taken with a Panasonic FZ-20 digital camera. The last photo at the end of the slide show was taken with a Canon AE1 film camera using Fuji Velvia slide film. A beaver is coming across the pond in the last photo. You can see it if you look closely on the right third of the image. This slide show is to honor all the great Alaskan Native and American Indian dancers. Also I would like to dedicate this as remembrance to a wonderful sister-in-law who is gone but not forgotten, always dear…Roberta Thompson. I know I should practice more with my flute playing. Sometimes these songs are more refined in my mind than in the playing of them. I hope you do enjoy it though. Use the ‘watch in high quality’ button. Mike Gladu. Copyrighted 1/4/09
Wow! What an Honor! I watched an animated clip based on the story “Flight of the Hummingbird” and can see how my song could work as a musical backdrop. I sent you my email address. Please write when you get a chance as I am very interested in this. Mike Gladu
Thanks for asking! I sent you my contact information so we can discuss it.
Hello,
I am a teacher at a school in Victoria, and would like to use this music to accompany a live performance of the Flight of the Hummingbird, a traditional Haida story. Woud you grant us permission to use this music or can we purchase the rights to it?
Hello,
I am a teacher in Victoria, BC and would very much like to use the music in this video to accompany a live presentation by some students in my school. Could we purchase the rights to this music or have limited rights to use it in a public performance on May 27th at the Royal Theatre in Victoria? Thanks,
VR
