Question by J C: Are sex and marriage still sacred?
since we live in a time where sex is just sex i was wondering if it has sacred value anymore.
And with divorces left and right, i was wondering if that still has sacred value too.
I know they do to me.

it is sacred to the people who hold it sacred. those people are very very rare.

They do to me.. I believe in waiting until marriage to have sex and that divorce is only an option in the case of adultery.
i believe they are still sacred.
it changes from person to person, this is a nation where church and state are separate so there is no general consensus.
I had sex before marriage, but only with one person (me current wife)
i dont consider it “sacred” per se, but i consider it to be between people who love eachother.
My marriage is “sacred” per se, i want to be with her for my lifetime, and neither of us want to get divorced and have vowed to always try to stay together, and we hardly get into fights.
This world has made a huge turn. No one cares about morals or values anymore. I take that back…. some people do, but not many. If you hold marriage and sex sacred then it will always be. Life is what you make out of it. These days you have to be very strong to overcome all the pressures of the world.
Good luck to the next generation. It is only going to get harder for our children and grandchildren.
Marriage and sex is sacred to me. I waited until I was 25 and 7 months into a very serious relationship before we made the decision to make love. Marriage is also important. We want to be married, but aren’t about to rush it despite pressure from both families.
yes still sacred, will always be until God says its ok to sleep with anyone, which will never ever happen
Only to people with morals
They do matter to me, that is the reason I stay loyal to my husband. I also try to work it out all the time because divorce is not the solution to the end of our problems. When you get a divorce and remarried you just get new set of problems.
That’s a pretty ignorant question. First of all, not all religions believe in no sex before marriage, so as usual this is just more Christian ideas pushed on us. Secondly, what do you think people should do when they’re being abused, stay in the marriage? That doesn’t mean it was not sacred, that means you were being threatened and thought it best to preserve your own life. You’re presuming everyone has this cute little Norman Rockwell home and you’re wrong. You’re totally naive on this topic.
marriage maybe,but sex no……..Frank,are u ready again,cause i am….
angel yoo hoo guese what i can see oh my god yes yes yes yes yes yes yes oh yess oh god wheres that smell coming from
I still hold marriage, but I never once thought of sex being sacred unless you count screaming out OMG, or kneeing in front of me giving me a BJ sacred.
Both are very sacred to me.
To me, sex is certainly sacred. In my faith it has a place as a union between souls, for example. And marriage is sacred too, although I don’t agree with the limitations and strictures society at large place on it. Obviously, society’s limits are artificial, and marriage as defined by society is currently failing more often than it is succeeding. My marriage is sacred to me, but it bears only passing resemblance to the traditional marriage you might be thinking of.
Unfortunately, not many people hold sex in a high regard or care to save it for the one they love/spouse. It’s quite rare to find a man (and as time goes on, women too) who isnt just out to have sex whenever and where ever he can. I made sure to marry someone who isnt loose with their sexual values and someone who considered it a private, sacred thing. People just dont seem to take anything seriously these days
Used to be for me… now i realize men seperate the two: love and sex. If he wants you for love, he needs sex elsewhere. something like that… haven’t been cheated on, just an observer.
Sex and marriage are incredibly sacred to me. My husband is the biggest blessing I have ever received besides salvation. People today, their morals and standard of living are just too low.
This world in general has perverted sex and marriage. Yes to some it is very sacred. God ordained marriage to be between a man and a woman. And sex between a husband and wife is the most beautiful experience ever. Please value your morals and wait for marriage to make love. God says be fruitful and multiply. It is nice to hear there are still a few left who have morals and self-respect left.Divorce should not be an option unless infadelity is involved.
Marriage is sacred.
Sex, on the other hand, should be naughty….sacred reminds me of sacrament…which reminds me of church…….and then I’m not in the mood anymore.
I definitely thing marriage is way up there on the sacred level. Even with divorce. Sex is more like food to some then some special sacrament. Its natural, fun, exciting and make a person feel good. I just think that the cat is out of the bag and more people feel that there is no need to wait for marriage.
To some families they still are.
In some third world countries are for sure.
