Not through a Sweat Lodge, but I do from time to time go into a secluded place in nature, usually by water of some kind (stream, lake, etc.) and listen. After a few minutes I ask a question. Then I listen. I take time to hear what is around me, see the animals that approach me, and feel what the Divine is giving me as an answer.
It is a wonderful, spiritual time for me even when I am anxious or sad. I always make sure to leave an offering as a thank you. Bird seed, nuts, fruit, water, etc. For the trees, I will sometimes leave a special stone. If a bird honors me with one of its feathers, I put it on my altar when I get home and remember to thank it during my ceremonies.
A “vision quest” would be seeking the gift instead of the Giver, dear one.
I seek the Giver. Always.
