that a Man could write out divorce papers and send his wife away?” Jesus replied, “You are so heartless! That’s why Moses allowed you to divorce your wife. But from the beginning God did not intend it to be that way.
What can you say from his biblical conversation? God never intends divorce to exist, but due to our wickedness. This is the best way to explain this because it seems we have lost our sense of forgiveness. Have we forgotten the undeserved Love God showed us by sending His Son to die for us? Have we forgotten so soon that if not for God’s forgiveness, we would have been doomed eternally? What if God decided to divorce us (Isaiah50:1, Jeremiah3:8), what would have become of us? And now, it is expected of us to share His love to one another and forgive each other. Even if your spouse commits adultery, shouldn’t we forgive, especially if he/she shows some remorse? If you cannot show forgiveness to the one you have vowed to share your body with, how then can you shine the light to unbelievers to see the Love of God in you? This would be hypocrisy in the highest order.
Divorce is never a solution but rather in any negative circumstance; try to work things out to be stronger and better. Experiences strengthen relationships and if you are so weak to stand strong, try at least to remember, you ones said “for better, for worse” as a vow.
