SAGE- POET OF INDIA SRI PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA
“… He look on March 27th as fresh and as unravaged by decay as he looked on the night of his death. On March 27th there was no reason to say that his body has suffered any visible physical disintegration at all. For these reasons we state again that the case of Paramahansa Yogananda is unique in our experience.”
Shri Paramahansa Yogananda wrote many poems as the part of the above mentioned lessons and teachings. Being a Preacher, his poems are marked with a distinct tone of metaphysical and supra-physical remarks and also with the psycho-therapeutically sayings and hypnotic suggestions.
He emphasized on the importance of ‘silence’.
“The tiger may be tamed,
failure’s talons can be maimed,
unruly nature trained
by powerful silence O’ unspoken words,
if in truth maintained.”
Shri Paramahansa Yogananda sings poetry in praise of god in various aspects. He yearns to see God always, ‘The Only Reality’ to him-
“I may dream many dreams
but I am ever awake thinking of Thee
In the sacred fire of constant remembrance
burning on my soul’s altar
I’ll ever behold Thy face
with my ever-watchful eyes of love…”
He stretches his vision beyond the ‘World-painted Screen of Delusion’ and see Him as the ‘Only Reality’. His poems are musings shared with the God. He perceives His Love everywhere, as he utters-
“With devotion strong
I weld the varied collection
of tiny bits of parental, friendly love in one
to match it with ‘Thine Own’… “
Thus Yoganandaji glimpsed His Vastness. He was ‘The Divine Gypsy’. He affirms that, “I shall go on loving Thee”. He makes his body a sacred abode to the Almighty. In the poem’ Thou
