And though I wasn’t born in the 60’s, listening to songs from that era or even before is like an escape from the reality of the misery of the times we’re living in.
classic early 60s NYC girl group,
I growing up in downtown/Gowanus.Red Hook Brooklyn, groups like the Crytals were the sound of the street then.. at the beach, on the stoop, hot summer nites, Murray the K shows… Italian, Irish. Puerto Rican and Black took time out to chill on the sounds… johnny pumps, sipping coke, Mr. Softy,,, jeans and white t-shirts hanging out on the street corner…throwing rocks from the piers into the river, coomba.s driving thier big cars, hey what was the # tonite?
Sounds like they’re saying “well he walked up to me and he asked me if I wanted to DIE. He looked kind of nice and so I said I might take a try.” Thanks for posting.
Damn I’m only 19 and I’ve been listening to this song for YEARS! Of course it took time in finding it, but I always enjoyed this song and can’t help but do a little bottay dance to it 😀

Great comment, and the last half sounds like poetry. No wonder. With the music and time and place–it must have been great.

Such an amazing classic and still fresh and rich today.
That is so cute. I was 4 when they released this song. It is so cool to know the teens and youngsters of today are listening to songs like this.

The Crystals are the most underrated of all the 60’s girl groups.
