A bouvier till her wedding day Shots rang out The police came Mama layed me on the front lawn And prayed for Jackie’s strength Feeling old by 21 Never thought my day would come My bridesmaids getting laid I pray for Jackie’s strength Make me laugh Say you know what you want You said we were the real thing So I show you some more and I learn What black magic can do Make me laugh Say you know you can trun Me into the real thing So I show you some more And I learn Stickers licked on lunch boxes Worshipping David Cassidy Yeah I mooned him once On Donna’s box She’s still in recovery Sleep-overs Beene’s got some pot You’re only popular with anorexia So I turn myself inside out In hope someone will see Make me laugh Say you know what you want You said we were the real thing So I show you some more and I learn What black magic can do Make me laugh Say you know you can trun Me into the real thing So I show you some more And I learn I got lost on my wedding day Typical the police came But virgins always get backstage No matter what they’ve got to say If you love enough you’ll lie a lot Guess they did in camelot Mama’s waiting on my front lawn I pray I pray I pray For Jackie’s strength Make me laugh Say you know what you want You said we were the real thing So I show you some more and I learn Jarkie’s strength

@andijschmitt An amazing amount of performers sound that good live. You’re just not supposed to know that these days.
@noreexic “…you are only popular with anorexia…”
this is the video tht got me hooked on Tori, pity she had to destroy her face
whats the refernece about anorexia?
wow i could watch her perform for hours 🙂
This was amazing, thank you
Haunting, captivating and utterly beautiful. I’ve known of Tori Amos since she appeared in the early 90’s but this performance was a revelation. I never knew she was this amazing. Thanks for posting this video.
@Iwtchutube Jackie Kennedy Onassis. i.e. she is praying for the same strength that Jackie Onassis displayed during her life in the public eye.
@andijschmitt Agreed.Tori is always amazing live.
Really Supreb…..
Very pretty song… and beautifully sung… But what is she actually saying? “Mama layed me on the front lawn; Bridesmaids getting laid; What black magic can do; Jackie’s strength”??? I guess she’s referring to the kennedy’s somehow, but what does Jackie’s strength have to do with it? Can anybody explain?
I absolutely love her.
I love like she’s says “I pray…” on 3:57. She’s so talented and soulful… Makes me crazy.
@andijschmitt indeed. you should see her live. she’s gonna blow you away with her piano and her wonderful voice. 🙂
she looks prettier than usual here.
i love her cheek bone.
for me there are two toris. the first exists through beekeeper and the second is what we have now. i miss the old tori. she doesnt have the magic anymore. this is magic. compare this to curtain call or maybe california and i will take this anyday
brilliant melody
BRAVO!
Ohhh! Me too! It’s amazing how she can describe feelings and mood states in her songs like few songwriters can.
i like your comment and i can’t believe anyhone would miss what you were saying, thank you for the lovely story about Tori.
I never claimed “expertise” when it comes to Tori’s music, and yes, I do know that music and poetry go hand-in-hand. I stated that I know about her music because it has been a part of my life for awhile, and the meaning I have come to identify with individually. By you saying that I “have no idea” about Tori’s music, you are in fact stating that you are the “expert”. Contradiciton? I think so.
You do know that all music is poems set to song right? what you said applies to all musicians, not just tori…..btw knowing an artist doesn’t make you an expert
I hope you weren’t directing that “noob”(what the heck is that anyway?)comment to me b/c I know plenty about Tori’s music. Musically, she is a poet…singing a story in her interpretation. She only hopes that we listen, and in turn, interpret for ourselves what her music means to us individually. What it means to you or the next person may be different altogether. So, I will continue to listen unconditionally because her music means something to me. That is all that matters.
This was the first tori amos song i ever heard. I’ve been hooked ever since. she’s a genius.
