Remember that this spell can be cast in your animal forms!
The Root spell is very handy and you’ll find many uses for it as you level up. A few examples…
If you are taking a lot of damage in a fight simply root your enemy, step back and heal yourself, re-buff and eat or drink.
When in a fight against one monster and another joins in (called an add) you’ll want to root the second guy so you can finish off the first bad guy.
When up against a very strong opponent you may want to cook him for a bit. To cook a monster (mob) you will cast one or several DoTs on him, for example Moonfire and Insect Swarm, and then root him. The mob will be stuck there for a while as his health slowly leaks away. This is often combined with you healing yourself at the same time…multitasking!
When in a group you may root a mob that is attacking your party’s healer or other weaker member so they can get away from him.
As you can image there are tons of good uses for this spell. Just keep in mind that with great rooting power comes great responsibility. In a group situation, especially at low levels, it is assumed that the Druid will be in charge of CC so be ready for it!

Really, what I intend on doing is finishing off the videos I’ll have for this game before I get Sonic Unleashed. It isn’t much longer, so here’s the sixth stage: “The Loquacious Spell Book,” starring the little witch Ashley and her devil friend Red. (“Loquacious,” for the record, means “talkative,” though in the sense of coming up to people and chattering nonstop. As you’ll see here.) I’ve heard some people calling Ashley moé-bait, though I don’t see why. She’s cute, but there’s nothing sexual about her. Furthermore, she’s proactive and self-asserting. You can see for yourself right here: Ashley wants to turn her little sapling into a carnivorous rose, and looking through a ton of books in her library, she’s worn herself out. Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately, a spell book comes along and shows her how it’s done. And thus, the Microgames commence. The Microgames here on out strongly encourage you to stand up. The Big Cheese is the most obvious, where you put the Wii Remote at your hip. The Microgames with the Big Cheese mostly involving jumping and shaking from side to side, so you can see where it’s getting more physical. Another one is the Discard, where you place the Wii Remote on a non-moving surface. Microgames here are mostly about reaction times or picking something up. Or in the case of the boss stage, both. The third stance is the Thumb Wrestler, where you hold the Wii Remote vertically with your thumb over the infrared detector. That you can do sitting down …
